By many accounts, the ASICS GEL-Nimbus 25 was one of the best shoes of 2022, and good news: the GEL-Nimbus 26 mostly just tweeks the winning formula from the previous model. An updated tongue and engineered knit upper creates a softer fit with a more supportive hold around the midfoot. An FF Blast+ ECO midsole is slightly firmer than last year’s version and still delivers all the bounce runners loved about the Nimbus 25. Lastly, a new ASICSGRIP and AHAR+ outsole improves the traction and durability of the shoe.

PRONATION: The ASICS GEL-Nimbus 26 is a neutral shoe and is not designed for overpronators. For a similarly cushioned running shoe for overpronators, we recommend the ASICS GEL-Kayano 30.
SPEED: The ASICS GEL-Nimbus 26 has too much soft cushion for faster runs. For harder efforts like tempo runs and workouts, we recommend the ASICS Novablast 4 or the ASICS Metaspeed Sky+.
